Abstrakt
The paper is dedicated to changes introduced on 29 August 2014 by the Polish legislator to the consumer bankruptcy. Those amendments favour the release of the bankrupt from his or her debts. To this end, the prerequisites for the opening of consumer bankruptcy proceedings have been liberalized and the base of consumer debt reduction expanded. It is expected that the implementation of those changes will result in the increase of the number of consumer bankruptcies.
