Abstrakt
The purpose of the article is to present the legal conditions for banks to conduct investment activities (brokerage activities) in Poland, including European regulations. The legal status outlined in the paper reflects the changes in the Polish regulations relating to trading in financial instruments in recent years and discusses the problem of lack of uniformity of the licensing procedures for brokerage and custody services of banks ? the issue of so-called ?banking license?. The publication also contains de lege ferenda notes covering, inter alia, the issue of separation of investment activities and the abolition of licensing dualism.
